Microsoft 365 and Office 365 migration for small businesses

Moving to Microsoft 365 from Google Workspace, another email provider or an old server? We plan the move, migrate your email, calendars, contacts and files, and switch you over with little or no downtime. We work with businesses across London and Surrey.

What we migrate from

Whatever you use today, we can move it to Microsoft 365.

  • Google Workspace and Gmail to Microsoft 365
  • POP and IMAP email from hosting companies and broadband providers
  • On-premises Exchange and older Small Business Server setups
  • One Microsoft 365 tenant to another, after a merger, sale or rebrand
  • Files on a local server, NAS or Dropbox to SharePoint and OneDrive
How the move works

A planned Office 365 migration, step by step

A good migration is mostly planning. By the time we switch you over, your mail and files are already in place.

STEP 1

Audit and plan

We list every mailbox, shared mailbox, domain and file store, check your DNS and licences, and agree a switch-over date that suits you.

STEP 2

Set up Microsoft 365

We create or tidy your tenant, verify your domain, set up users and licences, and switch on multi-factor sign-in from day one.

STEP 3

Copy in the background

Email history, calendars, contacts and files are copied across while your team keeps working as normal.

STEP 4

Switch over

Usually out of hours, we update your email records and run a final sync so nothing is missed.

STEP 5

Aftercare

We set up Outlook on computers and phones, check everything is working, and show your team Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.

What’s included in your migration

Everything needed to move over cleanly and start working the next morning.

  • Mailboxes, folders, calendars and contacts moved to Exchange Online
  • Shared mailboxes and group addresses such as info@ and accounts@
  • Files moved to OneDrive and SharePoint, with the right permissions
  • Domain and DNS records set up correctly, including SPF, DKIM and DMARC
  • Outlook set up on desktops, laptops and mobiles
  • Security basics from day one, including multi-factor sign-in
  • Advice on the right licences so you only pay for what you need
After the move

Keep it running smoothly

Questions

Common questions

Will we lose any emails when we move to Microsoft 365?

No. We copy your existing mail, folders, calendars and contacts across before the switch, then run a final sync after it, so nothing is left behind.

How long does an Office 365 migration take?

It depends on how many mailboxes you have and how much data is in them. For most small businesses the planning and copying take a few days, and the switch-over itself happens in one evening or weekend.

Will there be any downtime?

Very little. Mail history is copied in the background while you keep working. We change your email records (DNS) out of hours, and new mail starts arriving in Microsoft 365 straight away.

Can you migrate from Google Workspace or Gmail to Microsoft 365?

Yes. We move Gmail, Google Calendar and contacts to Outlook and Exchange Online, and Google Drive files to OneDrive or SharePoint.

Is Office 365 the same as Microsoft 365?

Yes, for most small businesses. Microsoft renamed its Office 365 business plans to Microsoft 365 in 2020. People still search for both names, and they mean the same service.

Which Microsoft 365 licence do we need?

Most small businesses choose between Business Basic, Business Standard and Business Premium. We look at how your team works and recommend the plan that fits, so you don’t pay for features you won’t use.

Can we keep our own domain and email addresses?

Yes. Your email addresses stay exactly the same. We connect your domain to Microsoft 365 as part of the move.
